Abstrak :
The third wave has put the information technology era. Communication and_x000D_
transportation occupy important role in people migration from one place to another. This_x000D_
occurred to students of Pattani Thailand who migrated to Indonesia to study in UIN SGD in_x000D_
Bandung. They encountered problems to communicate across cultures and adapt to a new_x000D_
environment._x000D_
This study will focus intercultural communication competence of Pattani students._x000D_
To deal with the subject, the study used a qualitative approach, data collected through_x000D_
interviews by a non-participant observation and document analysis. The theory used_x000D_
intercultural communication of Gudykuns, data analysis model of Miles and Huberman that_x000D_
relies on data analysis. The study concluded that Pattani students did not have enough_x000D_
culture cognition; see themselves as exclusive group; insufficient interaction with_x000D_
surrounding community; closed attitudes; verbal communication behavior; and less active in_x000D_
interpersonal relationship.
